The blanket was laid carefully over the day, like a mother carefully tucking her weary young child into bed. Slow and deep sighs could be heard before the ritual was complete. Heavy lids blink long even before the final close of the door. Like little bedtime rituals, we come to anticipate the dark and beautiful blanket to be spread across the sky. We gaze upward and feel the comforting heaviness as color changes to solid dark… we admire the little pinholes of light shining from the heavens. We call them stars, these beautiful peepholes into a mysterious, unknown world. I’m mesmerized, wanting to know more about the Maker of the Stars.
Amos 5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
I used to be scared of the dark but when the stars were out I felt they were angels watching over me. Beautiful thoughts on the stars and the night
